Reel Maintenance - Ball Bearing Steps

Pour lukewarm water (or water) and the mild detergent mixed into a small bottle. Soak the bearing and shake it until all of the dirt, grease, or oil are removed.

Mild detergent is essential for reel maintenance. NEVER use phosphates soup.

TIP:
Ultrasonic cleaners which is sold for jewelry or eyeglass cleaner is the useful weapon for reel maintenance.
Ultrasonic wave wash the inside of bearing where we can't reach. It's the best and easiest way to keep the bearing as good as new.

WARNING:
Do NOT wash grease-in ball bearing. Grease will be removed. This tip is only for grease less ball bearing.

When this is done, place the clean bearing on a soft, dry cloth, and dry it with a soft towel and hair dryer.
Be sure to dry it immediately and completely.
(Let the bearing dry naturally in at least half a day if you don't use hair dryer)

Then, re-lubricate them to prevent rust after it is completely dried.
